Why the links exist
A sewing article is only useful if it points at a specific pattern. “Find a simple tote pattern” helps nobody; naming the pattern, its page count, and whether the instructions actually cover the lining is the whole value. Naming it means linking to it, and the link is how the work is paid for.
How a pattern gets recommended
- It is opened and read before it is recommended — page count, seam allowance, whether sizes are graded, whether the steps assume skills the listing did not mention.
- Where a pattern is harder than its “beginner” label, the article says so, link or no link.
- Commission rate never decides placement or order. A pattern that pays more does not move up the page, and a free pattern that is better gets the top spot.
- Patterns that turn out to be badly drafted are removed from articles rather than left in with a caveat.
Where links appear
Pattern roundups, single-pattern reviews, and tool guides. Technique articles — how to finish a seam, how to sew a curve — carry no affiliate links, because nothing needs buying to follow them.
