How We Select Patterns
Every pattern featured on Sew It Simple is reviewed by June Hartley before it appears in an article. We check the instruction quality, whether seam allowances are stated or need adding, the fabric requirements, the number of pattern pieces, and whether the printable pages tile correctly at home.
A pattern marked “beginner” has to actually be one. If a pattern is sold as beginner-friendly but includes an invisible zip, a lined collar or set-in sleeves, we say so in the article rather than repeating the seller’s description.

Update Policy
Articles are reviewed regularly. When a pattern is withdrawn, changed by its designer, or replaced by a better option, the article is updated and the visible “Last updated” date changes with it.

If we get something wrong, we correct it in the article itself rather than quietly deleting it. Write to [email protected].
