About Cross Stitch 502

What we like about Cross Stitch 502 is how little it tries to be everything — it does background, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Cross Stitch Patterns shelf. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. Credit goes to PubliKado. It sits at 7 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it.

Our own plan for it is crosstitch, because that is where this kind of pattern does the least arguing with you. Count the stitches against your fabric before you start: the same chart on 14-count and 18-count aida gives two very different finished sizes. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

Search for design, drawing and illustration and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same pattern, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. Put next to the usual requests here — cross body bag pattern free sewing, quilting stitch patterns, cross body bag sewing pattern, stitch patterns sewing and quilt stitch patterns — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often. You will find it among the cross stitch patterns, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job.

How to use this pattern

  1. Download the files from Creative Fabrica and unzip them into one folder.
  2. Print the pattern sheets at 100% — no scaling, no «fit to page» — and check the test square with a ruler before you cut anything.
  3. Tape the sheets together on the printed match marks, then cut the pieces out and keep the instruction sheet next to your machine.
  4. Sew a quick version in cheap fabric first if the shape is new to you; the second one is always the one you keep.
