About Sugar Skull
Most of what turns up under day needs work before it is usable. Sugar Skull is the version that does not. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. 18 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up.
We keep it filed mentally under mexican, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Map and flag designs age badly if they carry a year. Pick the plain version for anything you plan to re-stitch. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether day was the description or the aspiration.
The listing files it under embroidery and mexican skull — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. On this site it lives on the Around the World Embroidery Designs shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing around the world embroidery designs rather than searching for it by name. Related wording on the shelf: around-the-world. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it.

How to use this pattern
- Download the files from Creative Fabrica and unzip them into one folder.
- Print the pattern sheets at 100% — no scaling, no «fit to page» — and check the test square with a ruler before you cut anything.
- Tape the sheets together on the printed match marks, then cut the pieces out and keep the instruction sheet next to your machine.
- Sew a quick version in cheap fabric first if the shape is new to you; the second one is always the one you keep.
