About Back to School

Ask for an embroidery frame and you get a hundred near-misses; Back to School is one of the few that answers the question as asked. The save count is still small at 2, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge.

Check the hoop size against the garment, not the picture. A 5x7 design will not sit flat on a newborn bodysuit. We would use it the way the listing hints — arts embroidery — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every pattern on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

The listing files it under back to school, bernina, brother and custom embroidery — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. Related wording on the shelf: babies-kids. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. On this site it lives on the Baby & Kids Embroidery Designs shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing baby & kids embroidery designs rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this pattern

  1. Download the files from Creative Fabrica and unzip them into one folder.
  2. Print the pattern sheets at 100% — no scaling, no «fit to page» — and check the test square with a ruler before you cut anything.
  3. Tape the sheets together on the printed match marks, then cut the pieces out and keep the instruction sheet next to your machine.
  4. Sew a quick version in cheap fabric first if the shape is new to you; the second one is always the one you keep.
