About Gnome with a Pipe
Gnome with a Pipe earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to christmas, and straight answers are rarer in this pattern catalogue than you would think. The save count is still small at 42, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. The listing shows 5.0 out of 5 on 1 review, which is better evidence than the thumbnail.
Appliqué versions stitch faster and stay softer against skin than a solid fill of the same size. The obvious job for it is creature, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every pattern on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
Type baby, dwarf, fantasy and gnome into the search above and this one comes back — the same pattern under four different habits of phrasing. The same shelf also answers to babies-kids, so widen the search there before giving up on it. On this site it lives on the Baby & Kids Embroidery Designs shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing baby & kids embroidery designs rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this pattern
- Download the files from Creative Fabrica and unzip them into one folder.
- Print the pattern sheets at 100% — no scaling, no «fit to page» — and check the test square with a ruler before you cut anything.
- Tape the sheets together on the printed match marks, then cut the pieces out and keep the instruction sheet next to your machine.
- Sew a quick version in cheap fabric first if the shape is new to you; the second one is always the one you keep.
