About Blinded Border

Ask for bedroom decor and you get a hundred near-misses; Blinded Border is one of the few that answers the question as asked. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge. The save count is still small at 13, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus.

We would use it the way the listing hints — blinded embroidery — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. Borders live or die on alignment. Mark the centre line on the fabric with a water-soluble pen before the first hooping, not after. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether bedroom decor was the description or the aspiration.

Search for border, cushion, embroidery and pillow and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same pattern, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. It is shelved with the rest of the border embroidery designs, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. The same shelf also answers to borders, so widen the search there before giving up on it.

How to use this pattern

  1. Download the files from Creative Fabrica and unzip them into one folder.
  2. Print the pattern sheets at 100% — no scaling, no «fit to page» — and check the test square with a ruler before you cut anything.
  3. Tape the sheets together on the printed match marks, then cut the pieces out and keep the instruction sheet next to your machine.
  4. Sew a quick version in cheap fabric first if the shape is new to you; the second one is always the one you keep.
