About Creative Border

The reason Creative Border is here is bordados and nothing else. It does not try to cover the next three jobs along, and we would rather it did not. With 26 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence.

Measure the finished repeat, not the hoop. Four repeats of a 180 mm border do not fit a standard pillowcase. Our own plan for it is border design, because that is where this kind of pattern does the least arguing with you. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether bordados is really what you are getting.

If you came in looking for cushion cover, cutwork border design, embroidery border and embroidery lace, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. People after this usually search borders too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. We filed it under Border Embroidery Designs for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end.

How to use this pattern

  1. Download the files from Creative Fabrica and unzip them into one folder.
  2. Print the pattern sheets at 100% — no scaling, no «fit to page» — and check the test square with a ruler before you cut anything.
  3. Tape the sheets together on the printed match marks, then cut the pieces out and keep the instruction sheet next to your machine.
  4. Sew a quick version in cheap fabric first if the shape is new to you; the second one is always the one you keep.
