About Creative Border

We put Creative Border on the Border Embroidery Designs shelf because border design is the kind of thing people come here looking for, and this one answers it without a detour. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. It sits at 34 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it.

Our own plan for it is cushion cover, because that is where this kind of pattern does the least arguing with you. Borders live or die on alignment. Mark the centre line on the fabric with a water-soluble pen before the first hooping, not after. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether border design is really what you are getting.

Filed as cutwork border design, embroidery border, embroidery corner and embroidery designs. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. We filed it under Border Embroidery Designs for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. The same shelf also answers to borders, so widen the search there before giving up on it.

How to use this pattern

  1. Download the files from Creative Fabrica and unzip them into one folder.
  2. Print the pattern sheets at 100% — no scaling, no «fit to page» — and check the test square with a ruler before you cut anything.
  3. Tape the sheets together on the printed match marks, then cut the pieces out and keep the instruction sheet next to your machine.
  4. Sew a quick version in cheap fabric first if the shape is new to you; the second one is always the one you keep.
