About Rainbow
What we like about Rainbow is how little it tries to be everything — it does applique, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Border Embroidery Designs shelf. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. Only 12 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's.
The obvious job for it is babylock, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. Measure the finished repeat, not the hoop. Four repeats of a 180 mm border do not fit a standard pillowcase. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether applique is really what you are getting.
It answers to applique design, bernina, blue and boy, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. We filed it under Border Embroidery Designs for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. People after this usually search borders too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place.

How to use this pattern
- Download the files from Creative Fabrica and unzip them into one folder.
- Print the pattern sheets at 100% — no scaling, no «fit to page» — and check the test square with a ruler before you cut anything.
- Tape the sheets together on the printed match marks, then cut the pieces out and keep the instruction sheet next to your machine.
- Sew a quick version in cheap fabric first if the shape is new to you; the second one is always the one you keep.
