About Sewing DIY: Making Shoelaces

Most of what turns up under durable needs work before it is usable. Sewing DIY: Making Shoelaces is the version that does not. Petit Citron made it. It sits at 40 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge.

We keep it filed mentally under fabric scraps, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Read the finished measurements and the fabric list before the instructions — those two decide whether this is the project you wanted. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every pattern on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

It answers to recycling, sewing and shoelaces, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are sewing pattern, pdf pattern, sewing tutorial and sewing project and they stay on this page. What this shelf gets asked for is skirt sewing pattern, dress sewing pattern, makeup bag sewing pattern, cat sewing pattern free printable and baggy pants sewing pattern free. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. On this site it lives on the Sewing Patterns shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing sewing patterns rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this pattern

  1. Download the files from Creative Fabrica and unzip them into one folder.
  2. Print the pattern sheets at 100% — no scaling, no «fit to page» — and check the test square with a ruler before you cut anything.
  3. Tape the sheets together on the printed match marks, then cut the pieces out and keep the instruction sheet next to your machine.
  4. Sew a quick version in cheap fabric first if the shape is new to you; the second one is always the one you keep.
